It was a joyous atmosphere on Thursday, 1st of June, 2017, as over 10,000 people mostly traders, customers and Lagos residents gathered to experience an intense 4-hour session of praise and worship. The streets, balconies and indeed the rooftops of computer village were filled with people eager to experience the healing power of gospel music. Little wonder they were reluctant to disperse at the close of the event as they clamoured for more.
The event took off with popular gospel music ministers like Emeka DMD, Femi Okunuga, Chris Nice, Tony Adoki, MOZ, Bee J sax and Okey Sokay leading the people in high praise songs. Thereafter, renowned gospel ministers such as Enkay, Chiika 100%, Tim Tehila, Chioma Jesus, Sammie Okposo, Joe Praize, Monique and Big Bolaji took to the stage and further charged the atmosphere with melodious tunes and dancing. The music was an excellent combination of African and Western tunes.
Some of the marketers in attendance who spoke about their experience at the Praise Flame concert said it was one of a kind and that they were looking forward to the next edition of the event.
Speaking on the essence of the concert, the convener and CEO of Tehila Records, Timothy Ogboruche, said “Praise Flame is an initiative aimed at taking the gospel to the streets and market place through music. It is also a means of fostering unity in the business place. This is the reason Praise Flame is always located in a market environment. Computer village is a large community of marketers, hence our hosting it here.”
Praise Flame was proudly and jointly sponsored by international brands such as Teleworld Integrated Services, a one-stop shop which specialises in wholesale and retail of Mobile phones, electronics and household appliances with offices spread across Nigeria; and TD Africa, one of the pioneer bulk distributors of smart technology in West Africa.
Praise flame, a market place initiative aimed at bringing the gospel through music to the market, is an annual event which began in 2016 with the maiden edition hosted at computer village. It had over 5,000 people in attendance.
Tehila Records is one of the foremost gospel record labels in Nigeria set up to promote and groom gospel music artistes both nationally and internationally. Tehila Records is the organizer of the Alabanza Concert, which has been a trend setter and pacemaker in the gospel music scene with over 10,000 people in attendance each year.
